work record 4~ shoot 4

The Sky ~ Shoot 4

Plans for shoot:

my plan for this shoot was to capture the sky at different places during a sunset, i achieved this by photographing different locations during a journey to my grandparents, a journey which gives me the opportunity to capture different landscapes.

Research influence

My influence for this shoot was Julien Grondin, (known as « Beboy » on social media) who is a French landscape photographer, despite my inability to capture images in the same astonishing landscapes that he does, i have tried to capture his style of photographing sunsets.

My Best images (target 4 - 6),

when editing these images i aimed to accentuation the colours of the sky and its surroundings, to do this i would alter the brightness, contrast and in some occasions the hue of the images.

my idea behind this edit was to show the contrast between the raw image and the altered image

images that require improvement

this image requires improvement as it was out of focus

AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.

My idea for recording the sky within this shoot was to take images of a country skyline which involved silhouettes of trees and telephone lines. I was inspired by the work of all my researched artists by their methods of taking photos, and by what they captured within their work but with my own individuality.

With reference to my best images, I feel that although I could not create photographs exactly like my artists  photos, I did create a set that was in the style of their work but with my own interpretation of the sky by using a country skyline.

AO2Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and

camera settings for each image:
due to a camera fault, all images were taken on an iPhone 8

AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.

(Here you will discuss how you developed your work based on your research of e.g. artists/photographers, etc).

my edits developed over time in term of my technique of editing as i started to experiment more with my images, my research of my artists helped with this progression, as within their sets of images, no two are the same, so i followed this ideology within my own work by experimenting more. as my shoots progress, i have started to become more experimental with my work in an attempt to produce unique and interesting images.

AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.

my final set of images were all produced in different ways and some of these processes are shown within my AO2 section.

Progression: you must refer to what you will do next to improve on either the shoot you have done or how you will develop your project in the next shoot.

my plan for my next shoot is to photograph the effect that a sunset has on clouds and cloud formations in relation to colour
