i decided to alter the brightness of the blue tones within this image in order to give it an animated result that looks like its come straight out of a cartoon |
|
when altering this images, i decided to accentuate the reflection in the water to portray the trees on the skyline as a blank canvas |
|
when editing this image, i decided to only alter the brightness and contrast to emphasise the blue sky behind the unique cloud shapes, and to bring more attention to the surroundings of the subject |

i altered the contrast of this image to emphasise the cloud reflections in the water |

when taking this image, i realised that the lines from the telephone line looked like sheet music, so i edited this image to make it look like the clouds were the musical notes. |

AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
My idea for this shoot was to photograph a riverside shoot along side trees and wildlife
My idea for recording the sky was to take images similar to my research influences cloud series, and to focus on creating my own interpretations of their work. I was inspired by the work of all my researched artists by their methods of taking photos, and by what they captured within their work but with my own individuality.
With reference to my best images, I feel that although I could not create photographs exactly like my artists photos, I did create a set that was in the style of their work but with my own interpretation of the sky using more colour and reflections and creating a form of surrealism in my work.
AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.
all images were taken during one time period on a NIKON D3300, i did not use a tripod for my images, instead i placed my camera on flat surfaces to achieve a straight image.
camera settings for each best image/ images used in edits:
AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
(Here you will discuss how you developed your work based on your research of e.g. artists/photographers, etc).
my idea for this shoot was to do a riverside shoot along side trees and wildlife, to do this I decided to walk along the river stort between Harlow town and Harlow mill, and experiment more with my editing and make my images look more surreal. My edits developed over time in term of my technique of editing as i started to experiment more with my images, my research of my artists helped with this progression, as within their sets of images, no two are the same, so i followed this ideology within my own work by experimenting more with colour and cutting out shapes to portray the childhood ideology that clouds could represent certain shapes.
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
i feel that i have produced a moderately strong set of images, that reflect my progression throughout my shoots.
Progression: you must refer to what you will do next to improve on either the shoot you have done or how you will develop your project in the next shoot.
for the next shoot, i aim to experiment more with camera angles and reflections in water, aswell as experimenting more with the aperture, shutter speed and ISO of my images.
