The Sky ~ Shoot 6
Plans for shoot:
my plan for this shoot was to photograph rain clouds during a sunset as they show a contrast in how the sky is at different times of the day and during different weather conditions.
Research influence
Masahisa Fukase |
Stephen Shore
my influence for this shoot was mostly Masahisa Fukase as the
photo book Solitude of Ravens, Masahisa Fukase produced
evocative images of birds in flight against dramatic skies which is what i tried to photograph as well as Stephen Shores colour photography of the sky

AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
My idea for this shoot was to photograph rain clouds during a sunset as they show a contrast in how the sky is at different times of the day and during different weather conditions.
My idea for recording the sky within this shoot was to take images similar to my research influences cloud series, and to focus on creating my own interpretations of their work. I was inspired by the work of all my researched artists by their methods of taking photos, and by what they captured within their work but with my own individuality, i aspired to relate my work to their use of tone an depth within their images.
With reference to my best images, I feel that although I could not create photographs exactly like my artists photos, I did create a set that was in the style of their work but with my own interpretation of the sky during the approach to rainy weather.

AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and
AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
(Here you will discuss how you developed your work based on your research of e.g. artists/photographers, etc).
My edits developed over time in term of my technique of editing as i started to experiment more with my images, my research of my artists helped with this progression, as within their sets of images, no two are the same, so i followed this ideology within my own work by experimenting more with colour and tone.
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.

Progression: you must refer to what you will do next to improve on either the shoot you have done or how you will develop your project in the next shoot.
to progress, i aim to experiment more with the style of my images and the time of day of which they are taken
